We have put this guide together to help get you the right defibrillator for your needs. We want you to be confident in the knowledge that you have the right defibrillator and that it is always ready for use.
The aim for us is to deliver to you the same technology that is used by emergency medical professionals but in a simple and easy to use way giving you the perfect peace of mind.
More than 130,000 people in the UK suffer from a Sudden Cardiac Arrest and currently only 5 – 10% of people survive. The survival rate could as much as treble if we can increase early implementation of CPR and use of AEDs.
The average response time for emergency services is around eight to 10 minutes, and every minute that passes without defibrillation reduces survival rate by seven to 10%.
The below diagram shows you what you can expect to see inside your defibrillator, most items are permanently connected but some items are removable like the Electrode Pads and the Battery.
Our units will self maintain themselves and warn you if they have issues. Our Wifi connected units will do this by contacting you directly, other units will self test and display warnings so a brief visual check is all you need. They don’t require any ongoing maintenance on a regular basis although the pads are single use and have expiry dates.
Charge-pak battery and pads need replacing every two to five years.
Your AED should be easily accessible to everyone and not obstructed in anyway, consider using an AED bracket or an alarmed AED cabinet.
Defibrillator training is not required to use the AEDs we supply but it may be beneficial.
Our Lifepak CR Plus and Zoll AED 3 models come with an 8 year manufacturers warranty.
Developed by a global leader in the defibrillator industry. The Lifepak CR Plus is an automated external defibrillator (AED) designed specifically for the first person to respond to a victim of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Unlike AEDs with complex prompts and limited energy for defibrillation, the fully automatic Lifepak CR Plus AED combines an easy two-step operation, just the right level of guidance and the capability to escalate to 360 joules when needed.
Only 50% of cardiac arrest victims will initially require a shock where as 100% will require CPR. The Zoll AED 3 is designed to support both situations by not only giving you high level AED functionality but combining it with Real CPR Help to let rescuers know if they are doing CPR correctly.
